This privacy statement discloses what information we gather about you when you visit the Mortimers Jewellers online shop and describes how we use that information. Our policy is to keep all personal information we receive completely confidential and it will be used solely for internal purposes. We are totally committed to respecting the privacy of our customers and any data provided will only be used in accordance with their wishes. We use personal information to process your order, answer your queries, process your gift voucher, proceed a repair or supply you with an insurance valuation of an item you have purchased.

With your consent, we will contact you via our marketing and sales channels (email/ phone/ post) about our products and services which we think may be of interest to you.

We may use your information to meet and comply with any applicable rules, laws, regulations, codes of practice or guidelines issued by any legal or regulatory body which are binding on us.

We sometimes engage the services of trusted third parties to process jewellery repairs. These businesses are all GDPR compliant.

We see your email address only if you fill out a form, place an order or request for service, or send us a direct email. CCTV
Within Mortimers Jewellers (87 Queen Street, Exeter, EX4 3RP) CCTV is used for maintaining the security of property and premises and for preventing and investigating crime. For these reasons the information processed may include visual images, personal appearance and behaviours. This information may be about staff, customers and clients, offenders and suspected offenders, members of the public and those inside, entering or in the immediate vicinity of the area under surveillance. Where necessary or required this information is shared with the data subjects themselves, employees and agents, services providers, police forces, security organisations and persons making an enquiry.

Secure buying online
To ensure your transactions are secure, Mortimers employs the latest SSL (Secure Socket layer) and encrypts all payment information. If the URL of a secure document begins with “https://”, the “s” indicates a secure channel to the server. Also, when security (SSL) is present, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome display a padlock icon, which is closed once a secure channel is established.

Mailing lists
We use a third party provider – MailChimp to deliver our email newsletter.  We gather statistics about email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter, and to enable us to provide tailored communications.

Accessing and amending your personal information
